11"x 14" framed painting, acrylic on canvas
In a grand ballroom filled with shimmering chandeliers and glittering gowns, she sat in the corner. Beneath her pointed hat, her eyes were half-lidded with boredom. This was the fanciest, most pretentious party in the entire kingdom. Around her, people twirled and laughed, sipping from crystal goblets and gossiping. She stifled a yawn.
All she really wanted was to hop from rooftop to rooftop, feeling the thrill of the cool breeze against her skin, hear the rustling of leaves, savor the night air, rich with the scent of damp earth, and smell of flowers that bloomed only at night.
There was a particular moment she was waiting for—midnight. Just one bite of cupcake and she would transform into a sleek cat.
